I founded Upward Editorial with Philippians 3:13-14 as my mission: “But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” My upward call is to support writers in their own upward call. Whether sharing personal stories, creating imaginary lands filled with strange creatures, encouraging others, or sharing knowledge and expertise, writers all have one thing in common – they write about what they know and love. My heart – what I know and love – is to help you be successful.
With over ten years of combined education and experience in editing, writing, and teaching English, I am a confident and skilled editor and proofreader. I have edited a broad range of writing genres, both non-fiction and fiction works, including romance, fantasy, mystery, history, devotional/self-help, academic, websites and blog posts. I currently edit grant proposals full time, and I have done some writing, taught ESL, and worked as a Publishing Assistant. I have a keen eye for detail, clarity, and consistency, which has made my clients very happy with my work.
In addition to editing, my “upward call” and passion in life is my family. I am a happy wife to Stefan, a Bible teacher and passionate theologian and apologetic, and I am a proud mommy to two incredible children – Abigail and Caleb. Abigail amazes me with her intelligence and love for God, and Caleb keeps me on my toes with his never-ending supply of energy and laughter. I love to do anything outdoors, especially hiking and hunting, and when I can’t rearrange anyone’s writing, I am known to rearrange a bedroom or my pantry.
